Statement of Purpose
The Gangaji Foundation serves the truth of universal consciousness and the potential for individual and collective recognition of peace, inherent in the core of all being. It is the purpose of the Gangaji Foundation to present forthrightly and respectfully the teaching and transmission of Gangaji, through the grace of Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri H. W. L. Poonjaji.
The purpose of the Gangaji Foundation is simple—to make Gangaji’s teaching available to all who are interested. Established as a non-profit organization in 1993, the Gangaji Foundation began with a small group of volunteers in the basement of the executive director’s home. Today the Foundation is a worldwide network of volunteers. We organize public meetings and retreats with Gangaji, publish books, and produce audios and videos.
Supporting Gangaji's Work
Several very special programs have sprung up since the Foundation first opened its doors. Each grew from one person’s desire to share what they had been given. The Scholarship Program, Video Satsang, Gangaji on Public Access Television, the Gangaji website, and the Prison Program all offer this profound message in their unique way and are all supported entirely by contributions and volunteer hours.
Hundreds of volunteers and donors have made it possible for many thousands of people to hear directly that they are already free. What a mystery, and what a gift. Your help, your energy, your financial contributions are welcome and needed.
Clearly everyone has the potential to live a life of true freedom. In gathering together in our participation and service to self-recognition, we support each other and all who seek to know the very truth of their being. The impact of offering this message to the world is unknown, but the offering is true and endless and is your own heart. Do you have an idea?
Many have found their own special way to offer this message of freedom. Some have donated Gangaji videos to their local library or favorite video rental store. Others have started a program for closed-captioned videos, subtitled videos in Spanish, or sponsored a Silent Retreat day with their Video Satsang group.
